  • Blue Kyanite
    Kyanite comes from the Greek word 'kunanos' or 'kyanos' meaning 'deep blue'.
    It's is a crystal of associated with connection and communication on physical and metaphysical levels.
    Its benefits are helpful for self realisation,  speaking ones truth and talking diplomatically and calmly in many situations. 
    Kyanite is one of only two minerals that neither accumulates nor retains negative energy so therefore never needs cleansing.

    Iolite 
    Iolite is a purplish blue crystal known as the 'Vikings Compass'.
    It was used as a polarising filter to determine the exact location of the sun so they could navigate safely at sea.
    Displaying a property know as pleochroism, Iolite produces different colours when seen through different positions, it can shift from violet blue to yellow grey.
    Iolite resonates strongly with the crown chakra. It is a stone connected with inner journeys of discovery.
    It is said to assist in combating negative addictions both mental and physical and is detoxifying.

    Moonstone
    A birthstone for those born in June.
    Moonstone is associated to the moon by many cultures, Hindu mythology believing it to be solidified moonbeams.

    Tanzanite
    Tanzanite is found in only one place on earth, Northern Tanzania near to Mount Kilimanjaro making it rarer than diamond. 
    The first person to find Tanzanite is credited to a Masai tribesmen Ali Juuawala in 1967. After a lightning strike started a brush fire and revealed the foothills brown rocks startling beauty.
    It was named by Tiffany & Co in honour of Tanzania.
    Tanzanite deep blue to violet in colour is pleochroic meaning it shows 3 different colours when tilted in different directions.
    It is said to be  a stone of protection and spiritual healing and one which will awaken psychic powers and illuminate deeper and more profound thoughts.

    Topaz
    The birthstone for November
    Comes in an irresistible  array of colours and colourless, or as the Portugese call it 'pingos D'agoa' or drops of water.
    Blue Topaz is extremely rare and so virtually all blue topaz is actually colourless topaz that has undergone irradiation and heating processes that do not compromise the stone.
    It is a particularly durable gemstone reaching 8 on the Mohs hardness scale, only diamonds, sapphire and ruby are harder.
    It is mined in Brazil, Madagascar, Nigeria and has been discovered in various UK locations.
    Surrounded in history and symbolism from the Middle Ages and Ancient Greeks amongst others and worn for a variety of reasons to promote, strength, beauty and willpower.
    'Topaz' is believed to either come from the Sanskrit 'tapaz' meaning fire or from the Greek word 'topazios', their name for Zarbargad, an island in the Red Sea and the ancient source of 
      Peridot which was often confused with Topaz.
